Waste Reduction Program

KTSCB encourages all citizens to practice waste reduction and waste recycling as a way of life. Recycle plastics, paper, cardboard, aluminum, metal, glass, batteries, compact fluorescent light bulbs, oil, computer parts, and many other items. Shop with reusable grocery bags, buy items that are in recyclable containers, reuse containers where possible, use tap water in your own bottle--LIVE RESPONSIBLY!

The National Recycling Coalition gives 10 good reasons to recycle:

  1. Good for our Economy
  2. Creates Jobs
  3. Reduces Waste
  4. Good for the Environment
  5. Saves Energy
  6. Preserves Landfill Space
  7. Reduces Global Warming
  8. Reduces Water Pollution
  9. Protects Wildlife
  10. Creates New Demand

Be responsible and visit one of the County's Convenience Centers or the City's twenty-four hour facility in front of the fire department on Fernside Drive to dispose of recyclables. For the location and current schedule of operation of the County Convenience Centers see the list below or contact the County Administrator at 706.886.9491.
