KTSCB seeks
to
maintain an open dialogue between local
government (City and County)
officials and citizens regarding litter
reduction, eradication of
illegal dumping, removal or rehabilitation
of blighted property.
We believe
that open
communication between leaders and citizens
is essential to achieving
the goals and interests of KTSCB. We look
to Commissioners, Enforcement
Officers (Marshal, Sheriff, Warden, etc),
and Courts for good
environmental codes and ordinances and
uniform enforcement of these
rules. We look to citizens of
Toccoa/Stephens County to provide
feedback on what is working and what is
not working.
In 2008 KTSCB
established the Citizens Advisory Panel on
Litter and Blight (CAP) at
the request of City and County
Commissioners. The CAP is composed of
eight citizens interested in promoting a
clean and appealing community.
A City and County Commissioner serve as
liaisons between CAP and their
respective Commissions.
The CAP seeks
to make
government officials and the general
public aware of the status of
litter and blight and to recommend
specific actions needed to fight the
problem. The CAP periodically measures the
status of litter and blight,
reviews pertinent regulations, monitors
enforcement of regulations,
evaluates government efforts, and makes
recommendations for improvement
of performance.

Advisory
